Mommy/Jimmer In Home Photo Shoot

I have always been a picture taker...but since Jimmer I think the camera is attached to me at all times...I don't want to miss anything. Last week him and I were just hanging out and I started taking pictures... it turned into A LOT of pictures. Here are SOME of them....Jimmer and I's mini photo shoot. :) It was almost nap time so he's sleepy and as the pictures go on you can tell he is over me and my ridiculous camera that's always in his face. :)

It is IMPOSSIBLE to:
explain how much I love this little person...
imagine life before him or without him.....

Nick text me the other day after we were talking about how we miss this or that about Jimmer when he was smaller.... and said "How sad do you think it will be when we know we've had our last kid and we will never have these young stages again"...cue LUMP IN THROAT....it's so true though.

A bunch of Randomness....

Well we have hit a hurdle and milestone with Jimmer really starting to teeth! It wakes him at night and breaks my heart. The other night he woke up and I went in to find him on his back clutching onto his blanket that was shoved in his mouth. He gave me this look like "CAN YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE??" Teething tablets, Baby Orajel, Cold Teething Rings, and a cold wash cloth for him to chomp on have all worked at different times. Most of the day he has his bottom lip sucked in, his fist in his mouth, chewing on different toys, or has hit whole hand in his mouth. I can finally feel the bottom two. It will be so weird seeing him with little teeth here soon.

He also loves to play! We have to watch him at all times now because he rolls all over the place and gets into stuff! He's such a show off....

PEAS!! We started Jimmer on solids other than cereal this past week and he seems to love them. I mixed the peas with the cereal which he liked better than the following day when I gave the Peas to him straight.  We did a few days with the peas, waited a few days and then tried green beans....NOT HIS FAVORITE! PIctures below show is disgust with the beans! We are going to keep this process up of a few days trying something new, 3 days off, until he's tried just about all the fruits and veggies.

We have a tv watcher! He loves cartoons. He will sit for 30 or more minutes watching. It's great when we need to get something done around the house or hop in the shower etc. My friend Morgan told me that Nick Jr will be my favorite babysitter and I'm beginning to see what she was talking about. That being said...he will not be a kid who sits in front of the TV all day long. I can still hear my parents yelling "go play outside!"

Fun New Facts About Jimmer:

*He is so much more alert and in tune now - He gets easily distracted when we are feeding him and is so curious! Nick always teases him and calls him NOSEY!
*He holds his own bottle..we hand it to him and he grabs it and puts in his own mouth. SO NICE he does this.
*Sits up on his own!! This is nice:)
*Can play for 20 minutes without becoming bored
*He is days...possibly moments away from crawling
*He is a great napper!
*He is very very active..his new thing is stomping his legs/feat and now his hands are going too (video below)
*He has HUGE hands...nothing new but I am really starting to notice them
*He grows out of his clothes what feels like every week...bye bye 6 month clothing.
I can't get over how good of a baby he is and how happy he is. I'm trying to take it all in because surely we won't be this lucky with the next one. I wish I could hang out with him all day.

LARSON LIVE

This past Sunday Nick had to work all day so JImmer and I got up and ate breakfast and headed to Church at 9:30 instead of our usual 11 am time. I took Jimmer to the nursery and sat all my lonesome:) I actually really enjoyed the hour sitting alone. It was an amazing worship cantada...all singing. The theme was being thankful and I felt myself becoming overwhelmed and emotional thinking of all that I am thankful for. It was also about being thankful in tragedy and hard times when it's the hardest to be that way. I text Nick and told him I couldn't wait to tell him about it. A great start to my Sunday. I'm so glad we've found a Church we love.
Some play time before Church

Always has those hands in his mouth

Time for Church!
Some other randomness..... a picture from our little reunion back to Upper Iowa...our visit to Davenport to see Jack and Dolly....and some other pictures of Jimmer Jack.....

Jimmer and Grandma Dolly....we threw that hat on him to be silly...Nick HATES it says "he looks like a dork..poor guy take it off"

5 Months

Jimmer is now 5 1/2 MONTHS old! I cannot believe that next month we will be half way to his 1st birthday. Doesn't seem possible. He is changing every day it seems like. He cracks me up daily and I love the little person he is becoming.

"Don't think I won't roll off this chair..."

"See this kicking action? New trick I picked up"

"This time I have a 20 photo limit..I got things to do"

"HEYOOOOO"

"There's room for one more on this thing..."

"Smell my feet...."

"Tell me your thoughts on the Political Campaign?"

"Mom you know I get embarrassed when you tell me how handsome I am"

Jimmer leaning against the SUPER NEAT height chart Jodi had made for him...it goes all the way up to 6 foot 5 or 6 I think. Cannot wait to start measuring him on it.

And just in case anyone doesn't believe how much this little boy looks like his Daddy...here ya go...

Height/Weight: Will find out at his 6 month check up next month.
Diapers: Size 3
Clothing:6 & 9 Months (depends on the brand)..and just ordered a ton of 6-12 months from Baby Gap.

Personality: Jimmer is such a HAM! His faces crack me up. He is so proud of himself when we stand him up, you can tell he is so impressed with himself. Sticking his tongue out, screaming, giggling, blowing rasberries...he is so entertaining for us!

Eating: Six 6 ounce bottles a day. Also 2-3 tablespoons of rice cereal before bed. Still pumping my life away. So many people told me it couldn't be done (exclusively pumping) but so far so good. A lot of work and time consuming but I don't mind. I am now making either exactly what he is eating a day or just 3 or 4 ounces more. So I'm not stocking up like I was before. He will probably cut back on bottles when he starts other solids so I will be able to put more away. I still have somewhere around 225-250 bags in our freezer. My plan is to stop pumping around August 1st and use the remaining frozen bags to feed him until he's a year or so old. That's the plan anyway! We started other solids this past week but I'll post about that later.
Sleeping: Despite the same routine day in and day out, his sleeping changes. Sometimes he gets up one time anywhere between 2 and 4 am other times it's twice around 1 am and 5 am. He goes to sleep between 7:30 and 8 pm....and sleeps until anywhere between 7:30 -9 am. When he does wake up he eats and goes right back to sleep in about 10 minutes. I'm hoping that in a few weeks when we start solids he will be able to consistantly only get up once or maybe not at all!??!!? (doubtful) :) I don't mind getting up with him...it's such a short amount of time and I love rocking him and kissing him at these random times in the night. The other night he slept from 7:45 to 4:45, ate and went back to sleep in 10 minutes, and then slept until 8:45 am.
Likes: Sticking his tongue out!!!! All the time...from the time he wakes up until he goes to sleep. Loves his jumperoo, sucking on our cold drinking glasses, getting his diaper changed, baths, his activity mat, and being loved on. He also loves his new nike shoes that his Nana and Papa Larson sent him. They are extra special because they were his Daddy's first pair of shoes when he was a baby:)

Dislikes: Laying flat on his back for long, teething, lately car rides aren't his favorite at least at the beginning, sun in his face, loud noises, getting dressed.
Changes: He looks longer and bigger to me, his hair is growing, his belly is MUCH bigger, he knows his name, rolls over much quicker and more often, and I really see how much he loves Nick and I now. He also holds his own bottle!

So I mentioned earlier he sticks his tongue out a lot...as in...almost all the time. Here are some pictures of him when I was attempting to get ONE smiling picture on Easter Sunday....

Tongue out staring at Mommy...

Tongue out and thinking...
Tongue out when Daddy pulls on my ear...
Tongue out when sitting up...
Tongue out while standing up...
Doing the Michael Jordan Tongue...
The show off Tongue...
Tongue out watching the Masters...
The pointy Tongue...

Tongue out wearing my Daddys baby Hawkeye Hat...

And finally here are few videos....I'm posting them so Nicks family can see him in action!  I cannot believe how fast he is growing. I can't leave him alone for 2 minutes without him moving to the other side of the room!
